Hey there! I had a tweet that seemed to resonate with a few different people, so I thought I would take a minute to share the full story.
I am the oldest of my siblings, a college graduate, and work full-time for a remote company. It is important to note that I also currently live with my parents. However, at the moment, I am currently away visiting my boyfriend.
Lydia Loves TV started as a way for me to tweet along with my favorite TV shows without annoying and losing followers on my personal account. Over the past year, it’s become a passion project for both my family and me. We laugh together, share our thoughts, and enjoy quality time together. You’ll notice that my poor parents, who are stuck watching what I’m watching, regularly make cameos on my Twitter. (My mom and I actually submitted our tape to run the Amazing Race together… fingers crossed.)
My favorite part of it all? My parents aren’t big reality TV watchers. They make their exceptions for me, but there was no way I thought they would watch The Bachelor with me out of the house.
But you’ll see from my tweet that I was emotionally surprised that my dad watched the full two-hour episode and texted me the entire time.
My dad doesn’t understand Jesse Palmer’s role of announcing the final rose. He agrees with you all when you say Susie is the spitting image of Hannah Brown. He also is getting good at taking pictures of the TV screen and coming up with his own captions.
Bachelor Live On Stage is coming to our area, and I suggested we go. His reaction, “You gotta be kidding me. OK I’ll go with you.”
I am incredibly lucky to have such incredible parents, and I’m grateful I could share that moment with you.
XO
Lydia
